Last month, the Booker Group hosted a Downsizing Seminar at the Levy Senior Center in Evanston. The free event attracted around 40 attendees, who took full advantage of the Q&A session to ask a many questions of our four subject experts.
The following is a brief summary of the presentations.
The Booker Group's own Erin Booker discussed the signals that may indicate it's time to downsize. She also provided an overview of the local residential real estate market, and offered some tactical advice about how to start working with a real estate advisor.
Real estate attorney Michael Wasserman addressed the role of attorneys during a real estate transaction, and talked about some of the less obvious considerations before putting a home on the market.
Jesse Sherr, general manager of Renovation Sells Chicago, spoke about maximizing the sale value of a home by investing in the kinds of targeted upgrades that today's buyers expect.
Finally, Lorri Bernstein, with Senior Living Specialists, discussed a host of topics related to navigating the options in Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care in the Chicagoland area.
